University of North Dakota opening $17.8 million High Performance Center on campus


GRAND FORKS, North Dakota — The University of North Dakota is opening its new High Performance Center on campus.

The school scheduled a Monday evening grand opening celebration for the $17.8 million facility on the site of the school's old hockey arena.

The center is a training facility for athletes in various sports, as well as a competition venue for track and field. It has a full-length football field and an eight-lane, 300-meter track.

Future additions will include seating for fans, coaches offices, locker rooms, a student-athlete academic center and sports medicine space.
