CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee — Police say a body has been found in the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, where athletes are competing in the Ironman event.
Chattanooga police said the body was found in the river on Sunday morning.
Police said the victim, who has not been identified, was not a participant in the Ironman competition. The Chattanooga competition involves a 2.4-mile swim in the Tennessee River along with a 112-mile bike ride and a marathon run.
Investigators are working to identify the body.
Police said there is no evidence of a criminal act at this time.
