PASCO, Washington — Pasco police say a shooting that killed a 22-year-old man is the latest in "targeted assaults" that have left multiple people dead or injured in the southeastern Washington city.
The Tri-City Herald reports (http://is.gd/79mDzZ ) that police say Lorenzo Fernandez Jr. of Pasco was shot multiple times late Wednesday night while driving his car through the parking lot of the Stonegate Apartments. The car then crashed into several parked vehicles.
Police were working to identify suspects and a motive.
Officers say Fernandez did not live at the apartment complex and they are trying to determine why he was there.
The homicide was the third in the Tri-Cities area in the last three weeks.
In three other shootings in Pasco the week before Thanksgiving, a total of five people were shot and one man was killed.
Police Chief Bob Metzger says each shooting has been a "targeted assault." He asked the public for tips.
