RIVERTON, Wyoming — A Northern Arapaho man convicted of killing his 22-month-old daughter has filed more court appeals in his case.
Andrew John Yellowbear is arguing in his appeal to the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals that he was unlawfully extradited from the Wind River Indian Reservation.
Yellowbear, a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, also asserts that the Fremont County Attorney's Office and Riverton Police Department destroyed evidence that would have helped him because they are racist.
The Riverton Ranger reports (http://bit.ly/1CzwOpy) that Yellowbear is serving a life sentence after a jury convicted him in 2006 of murdering his daughter, Marcela Hope Yellowbear. The child died July 2, 2004, after weeks of torture in a Riverton apartment.
