CASPER, Wyoming — A man convicted of attempted first-degree murder for stabbing a man multiple times at a Casper home has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1pN9b0x ) 27-year-old Zacharia Johnson was sentenced Friday for attacking Robert Masterson on March 4, 2013. Johnson told the judge he plans to appeal the sentence.

Prosecutors say he and co-defendant Robert Simmons had a neighbor knock on Masterson's door so they could get in. Johnson then took Masterson to the ground and stabbed him.

Simmons pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and aggravated burglary and was sentenced last August to 20 to 25 years in prison.
