Fire displaces 10 apartment residents in Maine; cause under investigation


WEST PARIS, Maine — Authorities are investigating after an apartment caught fire in Maine and displaced 10 people.

The West Paris Fire Department says a call came in around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Arriving crews saw flames coming from the second floor.

All the residents were safely evacuated and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

There were no injuries. The building sustained heavy damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown but fire officials say it's not believed to be suspicious.
