ESCATAWPA, Mississippi — Authorities say the second person who died Saturday night in a head-on collision on Mississippi 63 near Escatawpa has been identified as 54-year-old Michael Gaffney, of Mobile, Alabama.

Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus released his name Monday after relatives were notified.

Gaffney was a passenger in a car driven by 49-year-old Paula Yommer, of Wilmer, Alabama.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1tjeEzB ) the car was southbound in a northbound lane when it struck a pickup.

Yommer and Gaffney died in the crash.

The other driver, 67-year-old James Darrow, of Moss Point, is being treated for injuries at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile.
