MDOT provides $3.8M in grants for upgrades, improvements at Mississippi state ports

JACKSON, Mississippi — The Mississippi Department of Transportation has awarded $3.8 million to ports across the state for maintenance and improvement projects.

The grants, announced in a news release, are:

— $504,296 for the Lowndes County Port in Columbus to extend and upgrade existing rail spur.

— $552,000 to the Natchez-Adams County Port to replace North Wing warehouse roof.

— $511,335 to Port Bienville in Bay St. Louis to construct two heavy lift areas on main dock.

— $396,331 to the Port of Greenville for dock structure upgrade and rehabilitation.

— $950,000 to the Port of Pascagoula for dock repair at Terminal 1-A.

— $273,206 to the Port of Rosedale to prepare for port expansion.

— $612,832 to the Yellow Creek Port Authority in Iuka to extend existing rail spur at industrial park.
