Fire official: 4 injuries at Portland apartment fire; crews rescue 1, another person jumps

PORTLAND, Oregon — A Portland Fire & Rescue spokesman says one person jumped from the second floor of an apartment building to escape flames on Monday while fire crews pulled another person from the southeast Portland complex.

KGW-TV reports (http://is.gd/Oh2kg7 ) that Lt. Rich Tyler says two people have been seriously injured and taken to a hospital while two others were treated at the scene.

Tyler says five units burned at the Hidden Court apartments. The fire was reported under control by 5 p.m. Monday.
