ROSS TOWNSHIP, Michigan — The Kalamazoo County sheriff's office has identified a 68-year-old bicyclist who was killed in a collision with a minivan.

The sheriff's office said Tuesday the bicyclist was Dale Alexander of Richland. The crash happened Saturday afternoon in Ross Township.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, Alexander was riding along the right shoulder of the road when he cut sharply across both lanes.

Alexander was struck by a minivan driven by a 67-year-old Marshall resident. None of the 5 people inside the van reported having suffered any injuries.

Alexander was wearing a helmet. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
