MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Authorities are offering a $17,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or people who shot a woman to death as she strolled in her Manchester neighborhood.

Police say 62-year-old Denise Robert was walking in the North End section around 9 p.m. Sunday when she was shot once.

There were reports of a pickup truck speeding away with a white man in his 20s or 30s wearing a white tank top and having close-cropped hair.

The reward, including $10,000 from an anonymous donor, was announced Wednesday. Robert worked at the New Hampshire Union Leader and $5,000 came from the paper, its employees, members of the New Hampshire NewsGuild and friends. The Manchester Police Crime Line kicked in $2,500.

Police have gotten about a dozen tips so far.
