WILMINGTON, Delaware — Wilmington Police arrested a driver stopped for an alleged traffic violation in connection with a shooting.

Officers say they stopped a car driven by 27-year-old Thomas Rivers of Wilmington late Wednesday at 2nd and North Madison Streets. Authorities say a warrant for Rivers' arrest had been obtained earlier that day before in connection with an April 3 shooting.

Rivers was arrested and charged with attempted murder and other offenses.
