3 sisters returning from church meeting among 5 dead in crash on rain slickened road

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — Three Tampa Bay area sisters who died in a car crash are being remembered for their ambitious plans.

The Welch sisters — 18-year-old Tehira, 24-year-old India and 29-year-old La'Mour — were among five victims of a crash on a wet road near Arcadia. The women, along with 25-year-old Antwayne Robinson of Garner, North Carolina, had attended a church conference in Fort Pierce over the weekend.

Rev. Ricardo Welch of the Prayer Tower Church of God of Christ in St. Petersburg says his faith is holding him up. He says Tehira was designing her own clothing line, India was about to sign with a record line and La'Mour had planned to become a nurse.

They were hit by 30-year-old Jennifer Zuniga, who also died. Her 6-year-old son Cort Thivierge survived.
