NORFOLK, Virginia — A Virginia Beach woman faces a state weapons charge after police confiscated an unloaded handgun at Norfolk International Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration says its officers detected the hot pink semi-automatic handgun in the woman's purse as it passed along the conveyor belt at a security checkpoint Sunday. The TSA says officers also discovered two magazine clips and 12 rounds of ammunition in the purse.
TSA officers contacted the Norfolk Airport Authority Police, which confiscated the gun and the ammunition.
Officials say airport operations were not disrupted.
