Jonesboro officer-involved shooting investigation turned over to Arkansas State Police

JONESBORO, Arkansas — The Jonesboro Police Department says it's turning over a weekend officer-involved shooting case to the Arkansas State Police for investigation.

Police there say an officer shot a man Saturday after a suspect refused to drop a shotgun during a domestic disturbance.

Police said the 33-year-old suspect was treated at a local hospital and then transferred to a Little Rock hospital after treatment. No other information was available on the suspect's condition Sunday.

Police said the officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay while the incident is being investigated.
