SANDY SPRINGS, Georgia — Police in Atlanta's northern suburbs have apprehended a suspect after an all-night standoff with officers.

Police and a Special Weapons And Tactics team were called to a home on Old Woodbine Road in Sandy Springs Wednesday night.

CBS Atlanta reports that members of the SWAT team entered the residence shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday, arresting the man inside without incident. Authorities said he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for a mental evaluation.

Police tell WSB-TV that a woman at the home had called police around 10 p.m. Wednesday, reporting that her son threatened her with a stun gun. Police said she was able to get outside, but her son refused to come out.
