New York City man gets 25 years in prison for pair of armed, home invasion robberies

ROCHESTER, New York — A 23-year-old New York City man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a pair of upstate home invasions in which he brandished a gun and stole from his victims.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Clarence Lambert was sentenced in Rochester Friday after being convicted of conspiracy and weapons charges.

Prosecutors say Lambert and others broke into a Rochester home in September 2014 demanding money and drugs from two people inside before leaving with a victim's cell phone.

The following month, authorities say Lambert beat a man and his wife with a gun during another home invasion that netted his group $20,000 in cash, diamonds and watches.

Lambert was arrested after trying to pawn items.

Three co-defendants continue to await sentencing. Two others also are charged.
