Vermont finance commissioner retires, setting off string of staff changes in administration


MONTPELIER, Vermont — The commissioner of the Vermont Department of Finance and Management is retiring, setting off a string of staff changes in the governor's administration.

Gov. Peter Shumlin said Wednesday that Jim Reardon is retiring after 30 years of state service.

Reardon will be replaced as finance commissioner by current Department of Corrections Commissioner Andy Pallito. DOC Deputy Commissioner Lisa Menard will be promoted to commissioner.

Shumlin says in the Transportation Agency, Richard Tetreault will become deputy secretary, after Chris Cole was appointed secretary last week. He replaces Sue Minter, who resigned and is running for governor.
