BOLIVIA, North Carolina — A manhunt is under way for an inmate who escaped from the Brunswick County jail in Bolivia.

Authorities tell local news outlets that 22-year-old William Earl Hewett of Southport got out of the jail after he posed as another inmate late Thursday.

Hewett was in jail on charges that included assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, and communicating threats.
