KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — A Knox County man has been charged with fatally shooting a man he lived with in a community outside of Knoxville.

According to WATE-TV (, 35-year-old Jason Saffles is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Anthony Mitchell.

Police say both men lived at a residence in Powell, even though Mitchell's body was found in a nearby field.

Saffles was being held on $500,000 bond in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility. Jail records did not list an attorney.
