CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting death during a home invasion.

A statement from police said 39-year-old Corey Demon Walker was arrested without incident Friday morning. Walker is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Officers responding to a call on Sept, 17 found 44-year-old Michael Angelo Crawford suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say Crawford died at the scene.

Investigators say two suspects forced entry into Crawford's home and confronted the residents. After a brief altercation, one of the suspects shot Crawford. The suspects then fled the scene.

Crawford is being held in the Mecklenburg County jail. It's not known if he has an attorney.
