CORNISH, Maine — York County sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal car crash that took place on Route 5 in Cornish.

Police say the collision was reported at 8 a.m. on Thursday. They say 34-year-old Paul Goodwin of Sanford is dead and 44-year-old William Loring was taken to an area hospital where he was in serious condition.

Police say Goodwin's van crossed the center line and collided with Loring's pickup truck. They were reconstructing the scene on Thursday afternoon.
