GEORGETOWN, South Carolina — Georgetown is marking its recovery after a devastating fire on its main street destroyed seven buildings and eight businesses.

The fire occurred a year ago on Thursday. Now, there are 19 reopened and new businesses in the city's historic district.

A ceremony is set for the evening in Francis Marion Park to remember the fire, but also to celebrate the new businesses which have since opened in the city.

The event will also include the city's regular Music in the Park concert.
