GRAFTON, West Virginia — The Division of Natural Resources says Tygart Lake State Park's beach is a hit in its first summer following a six-year shutdown.

The DNR says the beach has been so popular that the park's staff plans to expand the hours of operation in 2015.

The beach had been closed for renovations and to meet safety codes. The project included replacing a steep, slippery concrete beach with sand.
