SMITHFIELD, Pennsylvania — A western Pennsylvania woman has been charged with criminal homicide in the early morning stabbing death of her boyfriend.

State police in Fayette County say they were called to a Georges Township home at about 4 a.m. Saturday after a neighbor reported a disturbance. Troopers found Robert Lee Engle dead on the porch of a home with a stab wound to the chest.

Troopers said 45-year-old Lori Ann Tressler wasn't home at the time but was arrested Saturday afternoon.

The (Uniontown) Herald-Standard reported that Tressler had been charged in 2009 with having stabbed the victim during an argument, but the charges were withdrawn several months later.

Court documents don't list an attorney who could respond to the charges and a number listed in Tressler's name was no longer in service.
