Suspect in Michigan woman's death returned from Minnesota after being arrested in chase


MIDLAND, Michigan — An ex-convict suspected in the death of a woman found in a house fire in Michigan has been returned to the state after being captured in Minnesota.

Authorities say 46-year-old Gregory Rose was arrested Monday in Carleton County, Minnesota, after a high-speed chase. He was traveling in a vehicle stolen from the Army Corps of Engineers.

The Midland Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1LqFkVO ) he was driven back to Michigan on Thursday and was awaiting a hearing. The court says Friday morning he doesn't yet have a lawyer on record.

Prosecutor J. Dee Brooks says he charged Rose with home invasion and other crimes related to an incident Nov. 12 in Midland County's Geneva Township.

Sixty-seven-year-old Connie Eileen Pajunen of Shepherd was found dead Nov. 13 in Midland County's Greendale Township.
