Department: Alaska unemployment rate at 6.7 percent in July, relatively level in recent months

JUNEAU, Alaska — Alaska's unemployment rate was 6.7 percent in July.

That compares with 6.8 percent a month earlier and 6.9 percent in July 2014.

The state labor department says the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has been relatively level the past four months. April and May saw unemployment at 6.7 percent.

Nationally, the unemployment rate last month was 5.3 percent.
