JONESBORO, Arkansas — Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson says the school has signed 24 players on national signing day, including seven transfers, as the school tries to build off its fourth straight bowl game appearance.

The Red Wolves, who were 7-6 in their first season under Anderson and lost to Toledo in the GoDaddy Bowl, signed five interior defensive linemen — including defensive tackle Javier Carbonell from Arkansas Class 7A champion Bentonville.

Carbonell is one of five in-state player to sign with Arkansas State, while four players are from Mississippi and three from Oklahoma.

The seven transfers will all be eligible to take part in spring practice, and they include one — defensive lineman Robert Mondie — who transferred from the disbanded Alabama-Birmingham football program.

The Red Wolves signed a pair of quarterbacks from Georgia, Tajhea Chambers and D.J. Pearson.
