Larry Rose III scores 4 TDs, brings New Mexico St. back for first win, beats Idaho 55-48 OT


LAS CRUCES, New Mexico — Larry Rose III scored on 1-yard runs three times in the fourth quarter to bring New Mexico State back from a 23-point deficit to start the second half, then punched in from the 2 in overtime to lift the Aggies to their first win in eight tries for a 55-48 OT win over Idaho Saturday night.

Idaho (3-5, 2-3 Sun Belt) took a 20-0 lead in the second half and Matt Linehan scored on a 19-yard run to make it 40-21 with 14:13 left in regulation.

Andrew Allen hit Royce Caldwelll with a 61-yard touchdown pass to spark the comeback and Rose crunched in three times in a span of 9 minutes, tying the game at 48-48 with :51 left.

Rose and New Mexico State (1-7, 1-3) scored first in overtime and sealed the win when Terrill Hanks picked off Linehan.

Rose finished with 212 yards on 25 carries.
