NORFOLK, Virginia — Norfolk International Airport is reporting a decrease in passenger activity for May.
The airport says it experienced a more than 3 percent drop in the number of passengers who used the airport in May compared with the same month the previous year.
Overall, about 274,000 passengers flew through the airport. Since January, passenger traffic has decreased more than 5 percent from the previous year.
The airport says it also experienced a nearly 3 percent increase in cargo shipped in and out of the airport in May compared with the same month in 2014. About 4.7 million pounds of cargo were shipped out of the airport during April.
