DOVER, New Hampshire — A New Hampshire woman serving a life sentence for paying relatives to kill her boyfriend in 2008 has lost a lawsuit filed by his family.

Prosecutors said Dianna Saunders of Dover enlisted her ex-husband and her former stepson to kill David King to cover up the theft of thousands of dollars she swindled in a real estate deal.

Foster's Daily Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1n5TyFw) a judge awarded more than $1.6 million in economic losses based on wages King would have earned, his pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment and compensatory damages.

Saunders collected from a $450,000 life insurance policy from her ex-husband, Roy Saunders, who was found dead in an apparent suicide.

The family understands it is unlikely they will ever receive full compensation from Saunders, but still wanted a judgment.
