CASPER, Wyoming — A former Marine accused of shooting a man to death outside a strip club near Casper is scheduled to go to trial Dec. 15.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1zXUGx5 ) John Knospler Jr.'s trial was originally scheduled for May, but a judge granted an extension because forensic evidence was still being processed at the state crime lab.
Knospler has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the October 2013 death of 24-year-old James Baldwin. Investigators say witnesses told them Baldwin was shot as he was trying to get into a car that Knospler was sitting in.
Knospler's attorneys say their client was acting in self-defense.
