PORTLAND, Oregon — Police say one man is dead after a shooting in north Portland.
The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/BcCz4g ) the victim was a 29-year-old man who was shot while sitting in the driver's seat of a car.
Police identified him as Marquis Chaney, a resident of the neighborhood where the shooting took place. The Oregon state medical examiner planned an autopsy Tuesday.
Police and medics found the man dead Monday afternoon with at least one gunshot wound.
Dozens of friends and relatives quickly went to the scene.
Homicide detectives and gang unit officers responded. Sgt. Pete Simpson says the shooter or shooters left the area. He says police don't know whether the shooting was gang-related.
