LINCOLN, Nebraska — Authorities say a body was found submerged in a creek behind a Lincoln university's science research center over the weekend.
Police don't believe the man, who was in his 40s, had any affiliation to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. An official with the school's police department said the man's identity won't be released until his family has been notified.
Police were notified Saturday about the body by a faculty member who had been walking through the wooded and marshy area with his son.
It's not known yet what caused the man's death or how long his body was there.
University police and the Lincoln Police Department's crime scene unit are conducting a joint investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
