NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts — The wrongful death lawsuit filed against a Northampton man convicted of setting a fatal fire in 2009 has been settled.
Elaine Yeskie sued Anthony Baye for unspecified damages in October 2012 for the deaths of her husband, 81-year-old Paul Yeskie Sr., and son, 39-year-old Paul Yeskie Jr.
They perished in a fire set by Baye during a one-night spree in which he started more than a dozen fires.
The motion for dismissal as a result of the agreement was filed Friday in Hampshire Superior Court. Mark Tanner, Elaine Yeskie's lawyer, tells The Daily Hampshire Gazette (http://bit.ly/1v7Q2Lf ) the agreement was actually reached almost a year ago. He did not provide details.
Baye was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to 48 charges, including two counts of manslaughter.
