LINCOLN, Nebraska — Two men have taken deals in the August shooting death of a man during a botched home invasion robbery.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (http://bit.ly/1JvLllL ) that 23-year-old Jason Holmes and 26-year-old Michael Nevels pleaded no contest and were convicted this week of being accessories to robbery. Prosecutors had lowered the charges in exchange for their pleas.

Prosecutors have said Holmes was the getaway driver and Nevels was found with the weapon used to kill 21-year-old Maurice Williams last August.

Court records say two other defendants in the case have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and attempted robbery. Awaiting trials are 19-year-old Joshua Carr, who also is known as Joshua Nootenboom-Carr, and 23-year-old Derick Lewis.
