Winners beats Tri-Valley 45-6 in state 11B title game


VERMILLION, South Dakota — Winner quarterback Drew DeMers threw for two scores and Windsor Barry ran for two more as Winner beat Tri-Valley 45-6 Friday in the state 11B title game.

DeMers completed 8 of 10 passes for 198 yards for the Warriors (12-0), who won their third state 11B championship.

DeMers threw TDs of 13 yards to Riley Frazier and 67 yards to Barry. Frazier carried the ball 12 times for 106 yards.

The Warriors led 24-0 at half. They outgained the Mustangs 510-139 in total yards.

Barry ran for 80 yards. He scored on a 12-yard run with 16 seconds left in the first half.

Brenton Hanisch ran for 85 yards and scored on a 38-yard run for Tri-Valley (7-5). Quarterback Noah Jewett completed just 2 of 4 passes for 27 yards, both to Landon Freeman.

Winner's total yardage is a new 11B record.
