SAN FRANCISCO — Police say they have arrested a known San Francisco gang member who had been on the run for six years and was wanted for an attempted homicide.

San Francisco Police said Thursday Ulysses "Bear" Davis was taken into custody early Wednesday inside a home in the City of Antioch after a brief standoff.

It says the 36-year-old San Francisco man was on the United States Marshal's Service list of most wanted fugitives in Northern California.

Police say Davis was booked at the Federal Building in San Francisco on outstanding warrants for attempted homicide and weapons violations, including using an assault rifle.
