CRANSTON, Rhode Island — Cranston police say they've charged a Providence man with molesting a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy.
Authorities say 31-year-old Sergio Resto turned himself in Thursday at Cranston police headquarters after detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest and began looking for him.
Police say both victims were living with Resto at a home in Cranston at the time of the alleged assaults.
Resto was arraigned Thursday in Kent County District Court on charges including first-degree child molestation, second-degree child molestation and first-degree sexual assault. He is detained without bail.
It's not clear what Resto's response to the allegations is. It's unknown if he has a lawyer.
Online state court records show Resto has a criminal record that includes convictions on drug and motor vehicle charges.
