15-year-old boy's mom disputes Wayne County sheriff saying son was killed in gang shooting

DUDLEY, North Carolina — Wayne County deputies say they think a 15-year-old boy was killed in a gang shooting.

Sheriff Larry Pierce told media outlets that Deyelle Morrisey was found dead in his home in Dudley on Monday night.

Pierce says he doesn't know if it was a rival gang who targeted Morrisey or if it was a dispute between people in the same gang.

Morrisey's mother, Donna Hall, told the News-Argus in Goldsboro (http://bit.ly/1Q15AfS ) that her son was not in a gang and was in his room not bothering anyone when he was shot.
