1 killed, 2 hurt in head-on crash in Laurel when car crosses center line

LAUREL, Maryland — Prince George's County Police say a man was killed and two people were injured in a head-on collision in Laurel.

It happened about 12:50 p.m. Thursday on Laurel Bowie Road near Loblolly Pine Drive, police said in a news release. Officers say 66-year-old Charles Fletcher of Lanham was traveling north.

Investigators say a car traveling south crossed the center line and hit Fletcher's car head on.

Fletcher was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver and her passenger, whom police did not identify, suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
