PATERSON, New Jersey — A man and a teenager are facing attempted murder charges stemming from separate shootings in Paterson.

Police say 31-year-old Wilson Jaquez-Torres was accompanied by a lawyer when he turned himself into police on Wednesday. He's charged in the shooting of a 24-year-old man on April 12.

A 16-year-old boy is accused of shooting a man in the city on April 13. Police say he shot the 18-year-old victim in the leg.

It's unclear if the teenager had an attorney who could comment on the charges.

Both are being held ahead of court hearings.
