Minor subway derailment in downtown Brooklyn causing delays on G line

NEW YORK — There's been a minor subway derailment in downtown Brooklyn, causing delays in both directions on the G line.

Transit officials say the front two wheels on the first car of a southbound G train derailed about 600 feet south of the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station. It happened just after 10 p.m. Thursday.

About 150 passengers were evacuated. The fire department says two adults and a child were taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

G train service has been suspended between Bergen Street and Bedford-Nostrand avenues in both directions.

Officials did not say what caused the derailment.
