Bossier City man arrested after baby daughter critically injured

BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana — Bossier City police have arrested a man after his infant daughter was hospitalized.

Police say the 3-month-old girl's injuries are consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

The father, 27-year-old Sean Christopher Morton of Bossier City, was jailed early Saturday. He faces a charge of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. He was awaiting the setting of bond. Information on whether he has an attorney was not available.

Morton was arrested after he took the child to Willis-Knighton Bossier's emergency room, where the staff alerted police.

The girl was later taken to University Health in Shreveport where she was listed in critical condition.
