Man killed crossing highway after basketball game identified; no charges against driver

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — A 20-year-old Connecticut man who was killed while crossing a highway in New Jersey after Thursday night's UConn men's basketball game against Duke has been identified.

East Rutherford police identified the victim as Ellis Snyder. He was struck and killed on Route 3 around 10:35 p.m. after leaving a game between the teams at the IZOD Center.

Police say that 19-year-old Robert Endrizzi, also of Connecticut, was treated at Hackensack University Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Two other pedestrians crossing with them were not injured.

No charges were filed against the 35-year-old driver and police were still investigating.
