North Dakota youth pheasant season is this weekend; season is for youth 15 and younger

BISMARCK, North Dakota — North Dakota's two-day youth pheasant hunting season is this weekend.

The state Game and Fish Department says licensed residents and nonresidents age 15 and younger are allowed to hunt roosters statewide on Saturday and Sunday.

Shooting is allowed a half hour before sunrise until sunset. An unarmed adult must accompany the youth hunter in the field. Youth age 12 and older need to have passed a certified hunter education course.

The daily bag limit and all other regulations for the regular pheasant season apply.

North Dakota's regular pheasant season opens Oct. 10 and continues through Jan. 3.
