GERING, Nebraska — A Wyoming man has entered a no contest plea in connection to a January standoff in the Nebraska Panhandle.

Scottsbluff radio station KNEB reports (http://bit.ly/1nQuA85 ) 29-year-old Matthew Schwab entered a no contest plea Thursday to terroristic threats. He entered the plea in Scotts Bluff District Court as part of a plea deal.

Schwab is accused of failing to drop a handgun during a standoff on Jan. 21 in Scottsbluff. A police officer eventually shot Schwab, hitting him in the upper body.

Sentencing has been scheduled for July 31.
