GLENDALE, Arizona — Police have identified a Glendale woman who was killed after being hit by a car while crossing the street.

Police say 66-year-old Linnie Kirby was crossing outside of a crosswalk Friday evening when she was struck in the curb lane by a sedan traveling westbound on Thunderbird Road.

Kirby was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators say the male driver of the sedan remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

Police do not believe speed or distracted driving were factors in the incident.

Authorities do not plan to file any charges or issue any citations.
