BRISTOL, Connecticut — Police say a 29-year-old Bristol man with outstanding arrest warrants in New York City and Puerto Rico has been charged as a fugitive from justice.

The department says officers were patrolling in the area of Davis Drive, part of the Bristol Housing Authority, Monday evening when they saw three males sitting on a guardrail. Anyone who isn't a resident or guest is subject to a trespassing arrest.

Police say they determined that Hector Luis Matos had outstanding warrants, including one in New York on a felony gang assault charge and two in Puerto Rico on charges of felony distribution of marijuana.

Matos was charged with two counts of being a fugitive from justice and was held on a $400,000 bond.

Matos is expected to be extradited to Puerto Rico.
