ST. FRANCISVILLE, Louisiana — The West Feliciana Parish School Board approved a new four-year contract for Superintendent Hollis Milton, with a nearly 34 percent increase in pay.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1CsilKF ) Tuesday's vote was 4-3 with the majority supporting to raise Milton's salary from $118,715 per year to $158,000 a year over the next four years. In addition, Milton will receive an expense compensation package of $800 per month, or $9,600 per year.

School Board Finance Manager Ruthie Davis said the new contract is similar to Milton's original contract except it removes any opportunities for incentive pay as requested by Milton, and it removes the 90-day notification time if he chooses to leave the position. In addition, Milton will receive up to 80 days of paid annual leave if he leaves the system.
